Bremen Cotton Exchange and the Bremen Fibre Institute (FIBRE) will host the 28th International Cotton Conference in Bremen from March 22nd to 25th, 2006. The biennial event that traditionally aimed at cotton specialists will now comprise a broader spectrum of themes of general trade interest. The Conference takes place in the 600 year old Bremen Town Hall giving the meeting its unique flair.
The inaugural session of the conference refers to cotton production and economies and addresses hot topics of worldwide cotton business as well as textile and healthcare in clothing and home fashion products. A session is dedicated to the future of cotton in Africa and one focal point is the international harmonization of instrument testing of cotton with a panel discussion of members of the ICAC Task Force on CSITC. Technical sessions will refer to fibre properties, process and quality and measurement technology. The development of new products will also be part of the program and about 40 speakers are expected to participate in the two day conference program.
It is hoped, that the special mixture of the International Cotton Conference historic ambiance on one side and the high tech nature of the lectures on the other side will attract many participants from the International Cotton Family. ¨
