Two Phase Strategy 'Spins Off’
Global Connections as Independent Sourcing Event

New York Home Textiles Show

(TGlobal Connections, the Asian home textiles source, will complete its evolution from a division of the New York Home Textiles Show to a stand-alone event, by shifting its timeframe in 2006, and its date pattern and location in 2007. This two-part strategy will reposition the show as an independent, overseas sourcing event serving the national home fashions market. In line with these changes, the show will introduce a new tagline: “America's Source for International Home Textiles.”

Phase one begins next spring, when Global Connections will shift its timeframe to run from March 28-30, 2006 the three days immediately preceding the New York Home Textiles Show at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Organizers expects that kicking off the New York Home Textiles Market Week, this new, staggered date pattern will meet the needs of textile importers and manufacturers seeking to source at the event.

Phase two begins in 2007, when the show will change both its date pattern and location, to run concurrently with the Gourmet Housewares Show and the National Hardware Show, each May. Repositioning the show as an annual, late spring event creates an ideal opportunity for sourcing home products. In addition, the collocation with two strong, existing events which together present some 3,500 exhibitors and attract more than 40,000 attendees allows for expansion of the market beyond its current reach to one of a more national scope.

It is hoped that repositioning this unique resource in its own time slot preceding the New York Home Textiles Show in spring 2006 will accommodate textiles manufacturers/importers with a conveniently timed sourcing solution. Aligning with the Gourmet Housewares Show and the National Hardware Show in 2007 will add appeal, visibility and national relevance creating a broad and comprehensive market for home-focused industries.

Global Connections, serving U.S. importers, distributors, manufacturers and large-volume retailers seeking to source directly from overseas producers, showcases home textiles companies that seek large volume business, private label and mass retail opportunities.
