Second International Uzbek Cotton Fair

Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan is organizing the 2nd International Uzbek Cotton Fair. The Cotton Fair will be held on October 17 - 18, 2006 in Tashkent.

Primary goals of such endeavor are concluding concrete businesses and strengthening the long term partnership in cotton trade. This fair will also familiarize the Uzbek cotton consumers with its quality characteristics, latest novelty in cotton production, trading practices and logistics. Large volumes of Uzbek cotton will be exposed at the Cotton Fair. Moreover participants will have an opportunity to enter to the long-term agreements with Uzbek exporters for the future crops. Indeed, this event will provide a premier platform for Uzbek cotton consumers and importers to facilitate international cotton trade.

This is the only one of its kind opportunity for the cotton traders/merchants, mill owners to see the complete Uzbekistan cotton industry under a single roof.

The 65th Plenary Meeting of the ICAC


The 65th Plenary Meeting of the ICAC since 1939 will be held during September 11-15, 2006 in the dynamic city of Goiânia, capital of the state of Goiás in central Brazil. Committee and Task Force Meetings will be held on September 10.

Goiás is the third largest producer of cotton in Brazil and exports approximately 30% of production. Goiás is also a center of cotton textile production in Brazil.

The theme of the 65th Plenary Meeting will be “The Social and Environmental Impacts of Cotton Production and Use”. The 65th Plenary Meeting will provide opportunities for information exchange and consensus building around best industry practices. The meeting will showcase the beneficial impacts of cotton production and use in the achievement of social objectives, and the meeting will showcase the extraordinary growth of Brazilian cotton production and improvements in quality.

ICA Annual Trade Dinner and Conference 2006

The ICA Annual Dinner and Conference 2006 will be held from October 4 - 6, 2006. The annual dinner will be held at St George's Hall, Liverpool on Friday October 6, 2006. The ICA Trade Dinner represents one of the internationally reno-wned grand occasion in the annual Cotton calendar.

The President of ICA, Mr. Peter Wakefield, will receive the Association's Official guests in the Lady Chapel of the Cathedral from 18:45. From 19:00 onwards further guests are welcome to arrive. The evening's events will commence at 19:45.

Sri Lanka hosts ITMF 2006
Annual Conference


The Annual Conference 2006 of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) is hosted by the Fabric and Apparel Accessory Manufacturers' Association (FAAMA) of Sri Lanka from September 23 26, 2006

The Opening Session is open to delegates and accompanying persons; the Fibre and General Sessions are open to all delegates. The meetings of the Spinners Committee on Saturday, Sept. 23 and the Joint Cotton Committee on Sunday, Sept. 24 are for respective Committee members only. The meeting of the Committee of Management on Tuesday, Sept. 26 is for Committee members and association officials only. The Workshops on Monday, Sept. 25, and Tuesday, Sept. 26 are open to all conference delegates upon prior registration.

The Fibre Session, Opening Session, all General Sessions, the Workshops and the Committee meetings will be held at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo.
